Maintenance checklist (guideline only)

Before a race event / race

Clean Tires

Remove excess tire wear using a Tire scraper and/or sanding disk. Check wear holes on whether tires need replacement.

Also check tire pressure to ensure even temperature across the entire tire surface.

Tighten Wheel Nuts

Tighten Fuel Cap

Check all Rods (Radius, Tie and Panhard)

Check that all bolts are secure.

After every Race Weekend

Or 150 laps, whichever is sooner

Engine Oil

Replace Engine Oil consistently. Use a high quality engine oil.

Check all Rods, Nerf Bars, Bumpers

For any major deformations / bends.

Mid year maintenance

Once in 3-4 months

Square car and adjust ride height

Check your chassis manufacturer for instructions. The more advance you go, the more frequent and more detailed this would be.

Check and Adjust Engine Gears

Look at the target RPM of the engine in your specific category. Adjust the engine / axle gear to achieve RPM.

Look at wear of gears and chain to check if replacement is required.

Clean or Replace Spark Plug

Clean the surface of the spark plug with Carb Cleaner and tighten the spark plug

Annual Maintenance

Usually in off-season

Refresh Engine

Contact a reputed motor maker like Big G's Racing Engines to go a maintenance.

Pack Wheel Bearings

Remove the front and rear bearings (including the bearing in the brake), and re-pack them with Lithium Grease + Triflow.

Cycle Brake Fluid

Bleed new brake fluid

Complete Car Cleaning

Disassemble the entire car (take plenty of photographs while doing so). Use Brake cleaner, Carb Cleaner and Power Washing to clean all surfaces of the car.

(Budget ~2-3 months to do this the first time)
